The District of Roth with the Franconian Lake District is located to the south of the urban conglomeration of Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen. It is easily accessible by both public transport and by car.
By public transport
The rail line Nuremberg – Ingoldstadt travels through the District of Roth. From the main railway station in Nuremberg take the regional express train R9. From the station at Allersberg (Rothsee) take the bus number 608 to the Rothsee pre dam (Vorsperre) and with the bus route 633 to the Rothsee main lake (Hauptsperre).
You can also cycle from the station at Allersberg (Rothsee) along the new cycle path, approximately 2 Km to the lake.
Alternatively take the regional train R6 or the S-bahn S3 from the main station in Nuremberg to Roth. From the station in Roth take either the “Gredl” train R61 to Hilpoltstein and from there with the bus number 633 to the Rothsee or direct to the Rothsee pre-dam (Vorsperre) with the bus route 608.
Take the A9 motorway from Nuremberg to Munich (exit Allersberg) or the A6 motorway Nuremberg to Heilbronn (exit Roth onto the highway B2/exit Roth).

Being mobile without a car is no problem as there is an excellent network of cycle paths.
The nearest airport is Nuremberg. The travel time to the Rothsee is approximately 45 minutes.
